Welcome new 6th grade band members!

The East Cobb Middle School Band Program welcomes over 100 new sixth-grade band students to its ranks!  Ms. Pezold and Mr. Doss are excited about getting started with this new group of students.  95% of all sixth-grade band students have been given a packet of information regarding instrument assignments, to include flyers from local music stores about renting instruments, and students need to bring their equipment (instrument, method book, folder, and pencil) to school on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Students will be using dedicated band lockers located in the band room for safe storage of their instruments.  Before September 3rd, students will receive a blue locker form that needs to be filled out and returned before receiving their locker combinations.

8th Grade Night with the Wheeler Marching Band!

8th graders and their parents, please mark your calendars — Friday, October 24th — this is the date for 8th Grade Night, the wonderful event where the 8th grade band members are afforded the opportunity to participate with the marching band at a football game.  The Wheeler Band Boosters will provide the students with an event t-shirt and dinner!

Permission slips and the detailed itinerary will be coming home soon!!

7th & 8th Grade Bands — Notarized Medical Form Required

All 7th and 8th grade band students received a yellow medical form that needs to be filled out, notarized, and returned asap.  This form will enable us to take the students off campus for events throughout the year.  Notary service is available in our Main Office and in the Guidance Office, as well as many local businesses in the area.

All band students received a stapled, green packet that has all of the details about the ECMS Band Program for the 2014-2015 school year.  Please review this material and fill out the last 2 pages for your child to return asap.  Contact information is very important so that we can keep you informed about upcoming events in Band and be able to contact you about your child’s progress when necessary.  Syllabus 1415
