We are excited to announce upcoming events that your child will be invited to attend this spring at East Cobb Middle School. To provide a safe and orderly environment at these events, we will be implementing a behavior expectations plan. All students recently participated in Team Talks January 13th and January 14th. During these “Talks”, topics of discussion included but were not limited to: academics, retention, attendance, behavior, and goals.
From Nurse Jacobson: We have had an increase in sore throats, coughs, vomiting and fevers this past week. We have had students come to school with fevers as high as 103.1 degrees. This is concerning as sick students have been exposing these symptoms to their classmates and ECMS staff. Parents please keep your children home from school when there has been vomiting, diarrhea and/or fever. Students need to remain at home until there has been no vomiting, diarrhea, or fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducers or medications to alleviate symptoms. These medications do not cure children, they improve symptoms while students continue to expose other students and staff to their illnesses.
8th grade students will have a Human Growth and Development of a guest speaker this week. All 8th grade students have been given the form to be completed by parents. Health and PE Human Growth forms need to be signed and returned by Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

Please help us meet our Invest with Positivity goal at ECMS this year by contributing to the campaign. We have raised more than half the mark but need your help to reach our $35,000 target. Money continues to support PTA programs and events, Curriculum & Field Trip Grants, school clubs and enrichment. The goal also includes funding an outdoor classroom and a set of bleachers. Please help us meet our goal this year by contributing to the campaign! You can find information on the PTA/Foundation website and social media outlets.
Parents, you are welcome to take advantage of shout outs/special messages displayed on our digital marquee in the front of the school. See the PTSA’s website to sign-up for a special shout-out/message on the ECMS marquee.
CCSD will be closed Monday, January 20, 2020 for the observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
