Testing Updates: Testing to determine progress in learning English (EL Learners) will be tested in reading, writing, listening and speaking will begin testing on January 30, 2017. Please click here to see the letter that will be sent home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

Report cards were distributed for Q2 on Friday, January 6th, parents if you have yet done so, please review all documents and sign the appropriate line on the envelope indicating receipt of your child’s Q2 report card. Have your student return Report card envelope to their homeroom teacher.

Parents remember that drop off time is no earlier than 8:45AM. Daily help sessions are available each morning at 8:15 (and that is where students will report if they are here prior to 8:45).

Monday – ELA

Tuesday – Science

Thursday – Math

Friday – Social Studies

Beginning Wednesday, February 1st, study skill sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings at 8:15 in the Theater.

Schoolwide Detention continues to be held in the Theater on Tuesday mornings from 8:15 – 8:45 and Thursday afternoons 4:30- 5:00. Parents remember that you are responsible for dropping your students off on time for morning detention or picking them up on time for afternoon detention.

Grade Level Administrators will conduct Team Talks this week; reviewing the Student Code of Conduct and outlining spring semester expectations for grades and behaviors along with activities to be earned for exhibiting desirable behavior and showing respect, effort,  and pride such as spring field trips, Field Days, Lunch on the Lawn, the 8th Grade Picnic and the 8th Grade Dance.  Your child received a letter on Friday, January 6, 2017 outlining the expectations.

PTSA is asking that Students and Staff: bring in your change this week to help us make a change at ECMS.  This is a competition between the grades! The PTSA and Foundation will be collecting change (and bills, too) in the Media Center hallway every morning this Monday, January 9th through Thursday, January 12th.  On Friday, January 13th, they will be set up in the Main hallway and 6th Grade Annex. There will be a jar designated for each grade, and the grade that brings in the most money will win a Pajama Day on Friday, January 20th. All of the money will go toward our Jr. Wildcat Development Campaign. You can still donate at any level to the Campaign through Friday, January 13th as well. Payments can be placed in the PTSA safe on the Main hallway or made online at the PTSA website , ecmsptsa.com.

Come shop for ECMS Spirit Wear on Wednesday, January 11th and Thursday, January 12th, at the Locker Stocker! Checks and cash are accepted. Come check out all of the great styles, like hoodies, pom pom jerseys, and new short-sleeve t-shirts! Refer to the PTSA website for the price list.

Just a reminder that Pebblebrook Center for Excellence in the performing Arts will be her tomorrow Jan. 10th at  9:20AM in Conference room for a presentation for those 8th grade students who have expressed interest in their Magnet program.

School is Closed next Monday Jan. 16th for the observance of the ML King Holiday
