From the Counseling Department:

Parents, we know that you put your trust in us every day to keep students safe, and we take that trust seriously. Student suicide is a public health issue that has affected communities like ours, and it’s crucial that we continue to take action to prevent further tragedies.

One way that we’re working to keep students safe is by sharing resources with a proven track record, like Crisis Text Line. Crisis TextLine is the free, nationwide, 24 /7 text message service for people in crisis. Anyone in the United States can text741741 to reach a trained Crisis Counselor. More information on how the service works can be found on the organization’s website at crisistextline.org/how-it-works.  Click here to read the letter that provides more information.

“The ECMS Community Outreach Committee would like everyone to know that our ECMS Angel Tree is here in the Front Office. We have had an overwhelming response of generosity and just about all of the angels are in the hands of givers. There may be a couple remaining, but if you are still in the spirit of giving, gift cards are always a great universal gift and you can make sure to get those to Ms. Reade in the front office and we will pass them on to the Outreach Committee. Remember that all gifts from angels are due back to East Cobb Middle School by Friday, December 8, 2017.”
