Quarter 4 (Q4) Progress Reports were made available to view online Friday, April 27, 2018 in both StudentVue and ParentVue. Report envelopes were sent home with pertinent information and a signature cover page for Q4 reporting. Parents please sign in the appropriate place for Q4 indicating that you have seen all information and that you have viewed your child’s Q4 progress report online. Students are to return the envelope to their homeroom teachers ASAP. Parents if you still do not have access to ParentVue please come by our guidance department to obtain your access code.

In reference to our goal to raise Lexile scores; remember the more you read the more you know and the more you read the better your score. Parents please help us with this action and make it a priority and encourage your children to read at least 20 to 30 minutes each night at home. Also share with them the importance of taking assessments seriously. Students are in the midst of taking their last Math Inventory (MI) and Reading Inventory (RI) assessments. As shared previously this year, Meeting the Reading Lexile Target is a part of the new promotion criteria for Cobb County Middle Schools.

International and Family Night is Tuesday May, 1st at 6pm. Come and enjoy creative and informative displays of different countries, cultures and cuisine presented by our students, staff, parents and community here at ECMS! All students/all children must be accompanied and monitored by a parent or guardian. Students must go home after school and return with parents for this event.

Field days are in just a couple of weeks! May 16th, May 17th, May 18th and we will need bottled water for our students and staff participating. If you are able, please bring in a case of water to donate to keep everyone hydrated throughout the highly active and engaging field day events. You may drop them off in the front office. Thank you so much!

READ READ READ! One of our goals is to show growth in student Lexile scores. An action to reach this goal is to give students an opportunity to read more. We read at least once a week during our Advisement Period. Parents, you can help us with that action at home and have your child read for at least 20 to 30 minutes each night. The more you read to more you know, the more you read the better your score. Thank you for supporting our goals and actions.

Students with extra-curricular activities/practices that are not scheduled for 4:30 must go home and be brought back to their activity or practice.
