An important letter was distributed on Friday September 14, 2018 for parents and students regarding an addendum to the Student Code of Conduct at East Cobb Middle School in reference to Physical Altercations/Fighting.

East Cobb Middle School is dedicated to sound discipline practices in the continuing effort to provide students and staff an effective and safe learning environment, to promote learning, and to encourage maturity during the school day as well as during all school-related activities.

How will it be addressed? Students who engage in a physical altercations/fighting will receive school consequences resulting in out of school suspension and may also have a POLICE REPORT and COMPLAINT FORM filed with Juvenile Court. It is our desire to focus time and attention on improving student achievement; however, we need our students’ help in practicing self-discipline to prevent such action. Please review this letter and sign it with your student. To read this letter in its entirety, please click HERE.

Summertime Fun!

READ READ READ! One of our goals is to continue show growth in student Lexile scores. An action to reach this goal is to give students an opportunity to read more. During the school year we read at least once a week during our Advisement Period. Parents, you can help us with that action at home and have your child read for at least 20 to 30 minutes each day during the summer break to strengthen their Lexile scores. The more you read to more you know, the more you read the better your score. Thank you for supporting our goals and actions.

Have a safe, enjoyable and restful summer!
