4th Grade Book Tastings

The 4th grade eagles experienced their first book tasting of the year last week. As they begin to think about writing a report, or informational piece, on an animal, we decided to give them a refresher on text features and how they are used while examining books about different animals. Many of the students probably came in knowing which animal they wanted to write about, but many of them left with future reading topics based on what they encountered during the book tasting. That is definitely a win!

Thank you!

Thank you so much for your support of our Enchanted Forest Book Fair! The sales earned our library about $1000 to make some much needed changes! Our next book fair will take place in February, but keep reading until then!

And we’re off…

We are so happy to see the students coming to check out books. Speaking of books, please plan to visit our Enchanted Forest Book Fair coming October 22 – October 26, 2018. There will be many exciting books available for purchase to help engage your child and keep them interested in reading.

We are in full swing!

We had a great week last week as classes and students began coming to the library for orientation and checkout. After discussing some very important information about Destiny and Biblionasium, the students participated in a Shelfie Scavenger Hunt to practice using Destiny and finding the books on the shelves based on their call number. The results of that activity with Mrs. Gillen’s 3rd grade class looked like this! Way to go Joshua and Gil!
