Welcome to Kindergarten!

Welcome to Kindergarten at Eastvalley! I am looking forward to a fabulous year with you and your children!

Your child will need to bring a bag or backpack to school every day to carry home papers/projects from school. Please check the contents of this backpack daily!

Here are the four main ways I will be communicating with you:

Your child has been given a folder to keep any papers that we may have completed in school, as well as any important notes that come from the office or me. This folder needs to be sent back to school every day.

We will use a separate site/app for our blog called ClassDojo. Open the following document, find your child’s name and follow the directions.  Mighty Multi-Age’s Student and Parent Invites (2)-1dg26eo invite-1fpjml5

We will also being using an app called Remind for quick updates from the class. Open the following document and follow the directions to get connected. invite-1fpjml5

Lastly, I will send home a class news letter each week. Open the following document to view our first news letter. August 6, 2018 News Letter-2c3bbwq

Solar Eclipse Party

Dear Mighty Multi-Age Families,

Due to the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, Eastvalley Elementary will dismiss at 3:00.

We are excited to share in this historical event with our K/1 class. We plan to have a special total solar eclipse snack, make moon dough, and enjoy watching the total solar eclipse safely in our classroom during this time.

If you are able, please let us know if you can donate 26 Moon Pies, 26 8 fl. Oz. water bottles, flour, and/or vegetable oil. We will give you specifics upon interest in assisting us to make this a special day for our kids.

Educationally yours,

The Mighty Multi-Age Team

Extended School Day August 21st

On August 21st, the Cobb County School District has extended the school day by 45 minutes as a result of the solar eclipse.  In preparation for the event, we purchased the NASA certified protection eyewear for our 4th and 5th grade students and teachers.  Only students in those grade levels will be allowed to view the eclipse live outside with proper eyewear and parent permission.  Permission slips will be sent home in Tuesday Tracker folders on August 15th and must be returned by Friday, August 18th.  Students in K-3rd grades will be allowed to watch a live stream of the event from their classrooms.  Any students that have a portable classroom will be brought into the cafeteria to watch a live stream of the event.  As always, you are allowed to check your student out prior to 2:00 pm. We are asking for no checkouts from 2:00pm – 3:00 pm. There will be additional support in the front office from 11:30-12:30 to assist with early checkouts.  Dismissal will begin at approximately 3:05 with bus students. Please feel free to call the school if you have any further questions or concerns.
