Technology Tip Tuesday

Thanks to everyone for checking back for another technology tip Tuesday, and we hope everyone had a great week of fall break! This week’s tip is how to quickly print a document or webpage. You simply select the Ctrl + P keys, and a print option box will appear. This can be a great time saver if you need to quickly print something! Check back again for more quick, tech tips!

September 14-18 Learning Commons Updates

We had another great week in the learning commons, and we rolled out some new furniture (pictures coming soon).  See below for details for each grade’s lessons this week in the learning commons!

Kindergarten:  Kindergarten classes started working with Pebble Go Animals this week, and they were able to select an animal and start their own research and exploration of that animal (AASL 1.2.2,NETS-S 1A).

1st and 2nd grade: First grade classes started discussing character, setting, and main idea, and some second grade classes received an introduction to using Destiny to search for library books (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A, ELAGSE1RL2, ELAGSE1RL2).

3rd,4th, 5th grade: Almost classes were able to come check out books this week (AASL 1.2.2).

Select the Ctrl + Z keys, and your work or last action should appear back in the document. This can be a great time saver if you accidentally delete something! September 8-11 Learning Commons Updates

We hope everyone is having a great week! See below for details for each grade’s lessons this week in the learning commons!

Kindergarten:  Kindergarten classes identified specific parts of a book and continued to check out library books this week (AASL 1.2.2,NETS-S 1A, ELAGSEKSL5).

1st and 2nd grade: First grade classes started discussing character, setting, and main idea, and some second grade classes received an introduction to using Destiny to search for library books (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A, ELAGSE1RL2, ELAGSE1RL2).

3rd,4th, 5th grade: Almost classes were able to come check out books this week (AASL 1.2.2).

In order to open the find box, have a word document or webpage open and select the Ctrl + F keys. A blank box should appear to locate words or phrases you are looking for. August 31st-September 4th Learning Commons Updates

We hope everyone is having a great week! See below for details for each grade’s lessons this week in the learning commons!

Kindergarten: This week we discussed the American flag, and we designed a class flag for each kindergarten class based on what each class thought was important to them, and some Kindergarten classes identified specific parts of a book (AASL 1.2.2,NETS-S 1A, ELAGSEKSL5).

1st and 2nd grade: With both grades this week, we read a variety of books and discussed ways we can tell how a book is “just right” when we pick library books. We focused on the 5 finger rule, and students received a bookmark with these rules on them. Also, some second grade classes focused on fairy tales, and some first grade classes started discussing character, setting, and main idea (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A, ELAGSE1RL2, ELAGSE1RL2).

3rd,4th, 5th grade: Almost classes were able to come check out books this week and continued to discuss which books they would like in the learning commons (AASL 1.2.2).
