Learning Commons Updates August 21-25

We hope everyone had a great week! This week we continued to see classes for check out and Destiny review (2nd-5th grade classes). Remember you can check out library books for two weeks! We also started our live student broadcast for the morning announcements in the learning commons this week! (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A)

Learning Commons Updates August 14-18

We hope everyone is having a great third week of school! We saw so many familiar and new faces this week since we’ve started student checkout and Destiny lessons! For what each grade worked on specifically this week, please see below:

K: We worked with the story No T. Rex in the Library and went over learning commons behavior as well as introduced self-markers. Kindergarten students who visited this week checked out their first Frey library book! Remember you can check out books for 2 weeks at a time! (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A, ELAGSEKRL3)

1st: We also worked with No T. Rex in the Library! First grade students also checked out their first library books of the year, and this year remember they get to check out two books at a time! (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A, ELAGSE1RL3)

2nd-5th grade classes: All second, third, fourth, and fifth grade classes reviewed Destiny (which does have some changes this year!) as well as how to find books on their interest level. Some students didn’t have time to use Destiny this week to find their books, so we will focus on this with those classes during their next visit to the learning commons! (AASL 1.2.2, NETS-S 1A).

Open House Announcement

Hello Parents,

We can’t wait to see you all this Thursday at 6pm for our Open House event.  Please keep in mind that this a parent-only preferred event.  We want you to get the most out of the presentation and be able to have all questions answered without distraction.  You will report directly to the class.  See you all then!
