Many students are starting the research process, and many will be using the databases in Cobb Digital Library. We continued with another busy, fun-filled week this week in learning commons! Classes continued whole group and small group check out. Many Kindergarten and first grade class visited for fall/Halloween stories, and third grade and fourth classes started to review Cobb Digital Library resources they will use for their research! Also, on Thursday, the entire third grade will Skype with the author Kate Messner, the author of the Ranger in Time series. Additionally, K-2nd and 4th-5th will participate in a visit from an illustrator on Friday to celebrate Cobb EMC’s literacy week!
This week’s tech tip is a reminder about our Biblionasium challenge this nine weeks! You have until December 19th to read and log 500 pages! Make sure you select the challenge when logging pages. Let Mrs. Sherman know if you have questions!
We have had a great, busy book fair week this week in the learning commons! We are open Thursday until 3:30PM and Friday until 9AM!

We have had quite the week in the learning commons this week! The first Biblionasium challenge ended Wednesday night, and those who completed the challenge will be recognized today at our Literacy Day celebration!
Classes continued whole group and small group check out, and some students started using the self check-in and check-out stations this week. Also, Mrs. Orr’s class completed a growth mindset Breakout Edu, and Mrs. Raniere’s classes were using the learning commons computers to work on Sway creations.
Don’t forget that next week is our book fair during conference week! We will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 7:15 am – 3:30 p.m., Special Hours Wednesday, Oct. 17th from 7:15 a.m. UNTIL 6:00 p.m. and Friday Oct. 19 7:15 until 9:00 a.m.

We hope everyone had a great fall break and a great first week back. Don’t forget we will be having our book fair during conference week (October 15th-19th), and we will celebrate our first literacy day on October 11th with prizes for those who completed the Biblionasium challenge (log books by October 10th!), a visit from the public librarian, and classroom activities that are literacy-based.
