Learning Commons Updates

We have had another busy week in the LC this week! All fifth grade classes visited for a math Breakout Edu. Students demonstrated the ability to work together to solve math problems to breakout! First grade classes visited for a round of musical books to sample a variety of books in the LC. Additionally, fourth grade students along with Mrs. Sanders worked with Mrs. Sherman to complete a digital scavenger hunt.

We continued with book checkout, Destiny, and Biblionasium lessons this week also. Students have until October 9th to log their books in Biblionasium for our first challenge this school year! Also, a reminder that the makerspace will open after fall break! Some classes started their tours of the makerspace and brainstorming sessions this week too!

Technology Tip Tuesday

This week’s tip is a reminder that students have access to Office 365 with their student e-mail and password credentials. Resources from the instructional technology department about Office 365 can be found here. If you have questions, please let Mrs. Sherman know!

Don’t forget Friday is hat day, wear red, white and blue, and SMENCILS will be on sale!

This week was another packed week in the LC! We continued seeing students for check out and review of Destiny and Biblionasium. Also, a reminder that the makerspace will open after fall break! More information will be coming home soon about donations needed.

Also, this month is library card sign-up month at  your public library. The first five students to show Mrs. Sherman their public library card or a picture of their library card will receive a prize!

Frey Updates: Friday, September 13th

Next Friday, September 13 will be a big day at Frey! Not only will we be celebrating the Star Spangled Banner with Ms. Hurley, but students can also participate in two different things to help benefit the technology initiative going on at Frey. Students may wear a hat that day for $1, and Smencils will also be on sale before school that morning for $1 each. The Smencils will be sold in the front and bus port lobby areas.
