Learning Commons Updates

Whole group and small group check out continued this week, and the makerspace was also open for students this week! Second grade visited the public library on their field trip Thursday, and some classes visited the learning commons to continue to explore the e-books and audio in Cobb Digital Library and SORA! If you have questions, please let Mrs. Sherman know!

Don’t forget the Biblionasium challenge has started! You have until March 10th to read and log 7 books!

Updates from the West Cobb Library

The West Cob Regional Library is offering a math club program, Crazy 8s, beginning on Monday, February 3rd. If you aren’t familiar with Crazy 8s, it is a free after-school math club created by the Bedtime Math organization. They meet for 8 weeks and do math-related activities relating to a different math concept each week. Participants need to register and agree to attend each of the 8 sessions.  Below is the website: https://crazy8s.bedtimemath.org/home/what

Learning Commons Updates

Part of this week Mrs. Sherman and Mrs. Hurley taught in the music room together for third, fourth, and fifth grade specials to practice dramatic and expressive readings. We hope students enjoyed this product of collaboration! Also, third and fourth grade students went with Mrs. Sherman and their teachers to the public library. This week the Biblionasium challenge will started January 13th also and go until March 10th. The challenge is to read and log 7 books! Start logging your books now!

Also, the makerspace is open this week, so please stop by and work on one of the activities. Additionally, fourth graders completed a Greek Mythology Breakout to review what they have been studying in their ELA class. On Friday, our Kindergarten students celebrated the 100th day of school!

Welcome back to everyone! We’ve had another busy week in the LC this week. We continued whole group and small group checkout Our fifth graders went on their field trip to the public library Thursday, and they learned about the great resources our public library has to offer!

The makerspace will re-open on January 13th. Please bring any donations to Mrs. Sherman.

Also, the Biblionasium challenge will start January 13th also and go until March 10th. The challenge is to read and log 7 books!
