Learning Commons Updates

We hope everyone had a great break last week! We quickly went right back into the swing of things in the LC this week. Fifth graders from the Ross and Tesar teams worked to catch the escaped shape family during a Breakout Edu, Kindergarten worked with Mrs. Sherman and Mrs. Melton this week to complete Brain Pop Jr. responses to washing their hands (we will complete this next week with all students), and first grade started coding with bee bots or their landform projects (both of these will continue this month). Additionally, we celebrated Read Across America week with readers from Durham middle school.

Small group and whole group checkout continued along with makerspace activities this week. Also, a reminder that students have until March 10th to read and log 7 books for the current Biblionasium challenge!

Learning Commons Updates

Whole group and small group check out continued this week along with Valentine story celebrations for Kindergarten and first grade classes. The makerspace was also open for students this week! All of Musial/Willis and Barnhart/Massey students visited the LC to start their Adobe Spark videos about The One and Only Ivan.

Don’t forget the Biblionasium challenge has started! You have until March 10th to read and log 7 books!

Technology Tip Tuesday

This week’s reminder is about Adobe Spark (access through Cobb Digital Library). This is a great way for students to create images, videos, and flyers! If you have questions, please let Mrs. Sherman know!
