Learning Commons Updates

WOW! We’ve had a great, busy week in the learning commons this week! We had the Ross/McRorie team visit for an intro on Spheros. Some third classes received a review of Cobb Digital Library and resources available, and other third grade groups visited for a book tasting. Also, all of second grade visited for a nonfiction book tasting this week too! Stories and small group check outs continued, and the 4th grade Hardman/Raniere team worked with the bee bots to solve math problems!

Technology Tip Tuesday

This week’s tip again focuses on Cobb Digital Library. We now have single sign-on for this when students are at school. They login with their credentials at school, and it will take them to the Frey CDL homepage.

At home, students and staff will use their Office 365 credential to access. For staff, that’s email and computer password. For students, that’s the Office 365 email (first [email protected]) and their computer password.

The book fair is here this week!

Oct. 16— Oct. 20

We will be open the rest of the week: Thurs., 7:15 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Fri. 7:15-9:00 a.m.

How the Book Fair Works

Attached is a flier that previews only a few of the extraordinary selections available.  We have books for all ages, including adults!  While you may order from the flier, plan to come to our Book Fair and experience the excitement firsthand with your child.

Help Classroom Libraries

The Classroom Wish List program works with teachers to add appropriate books to classroom libraries.  You may donate teacher-selected books to your child’s classroom in your child’s name or give a gift certificate.  A bookplate is provided for each book donated.

Share the Gift of Reading

You may purchase Scholastic Book Fair Gift Certificates for your children, teachers, friends, and others.  Forms will be available at the Book Fair.  Completed Gift Certificates will be given to the child or the recipient.

** Please be advised that the books and other articles in the Book Fair are chosen by Scholastic and not by the Media Specialist. Parents are always the best judge of what is appropriate for their children, and we suggest that parents guide their children’s Book Fair choices.

Technology Tip Tuesday

This week’s tech tip serves as a reminder for how to access Cobb Digital Library (CDL). Many students are starting research and will need the databases found in CDL. You can click here to access the site, and students can login in from there. If students need help remembering their login, come see Mrs. Sherman!
