2019 Summer Reading

It’s time to start thinking about summer reading! The Summer Reading Program (SRP) kicks off at school on May 13th and will run through August 16th. Students are encouraged to read (or have read to them) at least 1500 minutes over the summer – that’s only about 20 minutes a day. Minutes logged by fifth graders will count towards our school total until July 8th when the minutes will then be credited to Mabry Middle school.

We’re encouraging everyone to log their minutes on Biblionasium. Parent connect letters were sent home in April, but if you misplaced it or want a refresher, please visit our page http://www.cobblearning.net/gmmc/biblionasium/ for more details and video links. You can also use this detailed instruction sheet:  LogSummerReadingWithBiblionasium

For those of you who prefer to write down your minutes, that’s okay! Just keep a paper log and bring it back to school so we can give you credit for minutes read during the summer. Here’s a simple one that you can use: GM 2019 Summer Reading Log

Don’t forget about all the amazing resources available for free through Library Pass. Students can access Cobb County Public Library resources by logging in with their student id number and using their birthday as the password. For example, if your student id number is 1234567 and your birthday is February 13, you would enter:username/1234567, password/0213

Below are images and links to papers that will be sent home in the end of the year packets. You can also get more information by visiting: cobbsummerreading.com  and cobbcat.org/srp
