When finished with chapter 13,

  1. Reading Check Quiz (25 pts. RL standard)
  2. Collect guided reading and analysis questions ch 10-13 (50 pts. RL standard)
  3. If time permits, work on updating character body bio’s using sticky notes

 

Wednesday:  

  1. Vocab 14 Review with Kahoots quiz
  2. “How to recognize ethos, pathos, logos” A/V clip
  3. Review Ethos, pathos and logos using PPT and guided notes
  4. Identify appeals in ads independently
  5. What does using appeals look like in essay writing? Analyze how MLK used them effectively in “Letters from a Birmingham Jail”.
  6. Highlight how appeals are used in essay writing on guided notes
  7. Continue working on essays with character sketches and creating claim statements

 

Thursday:

  2. Vocab-review for quiz tomorrow
  3. Using Character Sketches from before “The Day”, use sticky notes to show how the character changed over the course of the text-using evidence and quotes
