SWA Final Exam, Wednesday, November 28

We were privileged to have Mrs. Scherer, our 7th grade counselor, visit our class today and conduct a lesson on Stop Procrastinating!. The lesson focused on the importance of adopting and maintaining good time management skills, and I hope that you were amazed with the sand, pebbles, and large rocks simulation that visually represented how we use our time.

I love the quote that she shared, “The days are long, but the years are short” as the focus of the lesson was learning how to spend time on the things that really matter in life. It was interesting to hear how many hours were devoted to sports, extra curricular activities (YouTube and Fortnite!!), and homework. Mrs. Scherer had the students create a roadmap checklist (schedule) for studying for our upcoming Middle East Final Exam on Wednesday, November 28.  The main idea of the lesson was sharing ways to make the best use of the time that you have and tips for better time management skills. Manage your time wisely kiddos, and don’t PROCRASTINATE! EAT THE FROG!!

Voting

We have talked a lot this year about the right to vote. We spoke about countries who let and do not let their citizens vote, countries who only allow certain people to vote, and when people vote what they vote for.

Today is the midterm elections in the United States. I encourage all of my students to follow what is going on today. Some links to follow are:
