Welcome Back and Happy New Year!!

I am hoping that 2019 will be as memorable as 2018. December seems like such a long time ago, but it was filled with such excitement! Thank you to Chattahoochee Gold and all of you who graciously donated items for our “Star Tree” that benefitted our Nicholson families in need. I was amazed at the way our community came together to help our families during the holiday season!

As we start fresh in 2019, I would like to encourage all of you to make attendance a priority. Being on time and ready to begin each day at 7:50 am, when the bell rings, will help your child to start their day off on the right foot. We have seen an increase in students being tardy since November and would like this number to decrease in the second half of the year. A child’s success in school goes hand in hand with student attendance.

Our PTA has planned several events for your family; Stars and Strikes, Nicholson’s 5K and the Carnival that was postponed from the fall. I am excited to spend time with all of you and our stars outside the classroom. Please check the PTA dates for more information!

Your children make me smile each day and make it a joy to come to work!  I am so thankful to be back here at Nicholson and I am anticipating a great 2019!

Sincerely,

Faith Harmeyer
Principal

News from Ms. Harmeyer

Dear Nicholson Families,

It’s hard to believe that we just finished our third month of school!  As we head into the holiday season I am reminded of what I am thankful for on a daily basis here at Nicholson.

  • The smiling faces of students as they walk through our doors excited to learn.
  • Teachers, Paras, Specialists and Support staff who give everything they have every day to ensure the success and wellbeing of our students.
  • Parents who support and entrust us daily with their most prized possession.
  • Staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the everyday operations of Nicholson run smoothly and safely: Front Office Staff, Cafeteria Staff, Custodial Staff, Bus Drivers, and Public Safety
  • An active PTA who works to give funding and support beyond what the district can provide.
  • A cutting edge school district who values employees and students and embodies our mission of One Team. One Goal. Student Success.

The list could go on and on.  Nicholson truly is a special place and I am so very lucky to call it home!

We have some fun family activities coming up this month before Thanksgiving break and I encourage you to participate with us.
