Remember to RSVP for the 8th Grade Dance this coming Friday- May 4th (7-9 pm).

Warm up: Students were given Weekly Skills 33 (due Friday) and allowed to work with  a partner to complete 5 problems of their choice.  We also did a 5 minute frenzy drill.

Lesson: Most students needed time to complete the Unit 7 test from Friday.

Homework: Get Progress Reports signed, work on Weekly Skills 33 (due Friday)

Unit 7 Math Test over Systems of Equations is this Friday! 

Warm up: 5 Minute Frenzy Fact Drill (no calculator allowed). Work on Weekly Skills 32 (due Friday)

Lesson: Students entered their answers to the partner test on I-respond and then analyzed their scores and errors to prepare for Friday’s test.  Any extra time was spent working on the unit 7 study guide.

Harrison High School students will receive a list of their courses for 8th grade to take home soon.  Check to make sure each academic class is listed.  Write any problems or concerns on the paper and return it to school if needed.  This is NOT a schedule, just a list of classes  for next school year.

Warm Up: Moby Max fluency drill- try not to use the calculator!

Lesson: Students will begin working on placemat problems solving systems of equations in preparation for next Friday’s unit 7 test.  This is due by the end of class Friday.

Homework: None- unless you have missing assignments or need to complete USA Test Prep.

We are so happy to have Milestones behind us, but there are still 5 weeks left of school. 8th Grade math continues to work until the last day on content related learning activities. We will be completing unit 8, work to strengthen and extend current concepts, and previewing Algebra 1 content. Students are bringing home their textbook as we have utilized the material desired from it. We will be using activities, tasks, and other resources to complete the year.

Lesson: Continue Partner Activity with “I Can” questions for Unit 7- Systems of Equations

Homework: None, but mark your calendars for the Unit 7 Test next Friday, April 27th! 

 

April 9-17, 2018

Welcome back from Spring Break!  Hope you all enjoyed your week off.

Milestones testing begins Tuesday April 10th and ends Tuesday April 17th.  Students will have adjusted schedules during testing.  

The Math Milestones End of Grade Test will be Thursday and Friday April 12-13, 2018.  Calculators will not be provided to students during testing, unless they are testing online.  Students should bring their own calculator with the memory cleared.

Classwork: Students will complete a Review by Unit  in class prior to testing.

Graded assignment due: USA Test Prep assignment was given in March.  Students were informed it is due Tuesday April 10.  This assignment counts for 5 classwork grades (1 for each domain) and a quiz grade (average of the classwork grades).  2018 USA test prep review for EOG assignment

No Weekly Skills this week.  No other homework will be assigned.

We will resume preparing for the Unit 7 test after Milestones testing is concluded.
