The rest of class time was spent taking the Pythagorean Theorem Quiz.  Students can finish on Monday if needed.

Today students finished up their Almost There Pythagorean Theorem Assessment to review for tomorrow’s quiz.  Once finished, students competed to earn candy by working additional white board review questions.

Today students worked on an “Almost There” assessment on Pythagorean Theorem to see how prepared they are for the Quiz Friday.  We will finish it in class tomorrow and go over the questions together.

Homework: continue to work on pg 13-16 (1-8) in the Unit 3 Packet and work to complete Weekly Skills 16/Math Minutes 28-32 (due Friday)

Today we learned how to find the distance between 2 points on the coordinate plane using the Pythagorean Theorem.

Today we turned in Weekly Skills 14.  Then we checked the homework problems from page 8 of the new packet on the Pythagorean Theorem.

We worked several problems and learned how to prove if a triangle is a right triangle with the Pythagorean Theorem.

Today we begin Unit 3! Students were given their new packets (Yellow cover) and began taking notes on the Pythagorean Theorem.

We learned the parts of the right triangle, the formula for the Pythagorean Theorem, and how to use LWPC to find the missing side of a right triangle using the formula.  Busy Day!  Check out these videos to help you remember:

Next we got on the computers and learned how to access the class notebook and find resources.

To get to Class Notebook: get on the web page and click on the “Parents” tab

Today students finished their “Almost There” assessment and entered their answers on I-respond.

Next we did some review and practice problems to prepare for tomorrow’s quiz.

Homework: finish problems 1, 2, 4 and 7 on page 19 of the Unit 2 D packet.  See hints below.  Don’t forget all answers need to be in Scientific notation.
