Today in class:

Students printed the final Argument Paper and Works Cited.

Students turned in the papers along with supporting papers in the correct order.

If students finished, they wrote a POV persuasive about a stray dog.

NO HW!!!

2/14/19

Today in class:

Students made needed revisions and completed a Works Cited page.

Students were supposed to get papers ready to print for tomorrow in class.

2/13/19

Today in class:

Students did a peer computer switch to make notes on editing and revising the argumentative paper for a partner. Students were timed, and at the end of the session students shared their written and verbal notes for improved writing with the partner.

2/12/19

Today in class:

Students finished typing the first draft of their argumentative papers.

After they finished, while waiting on other classmates, they read a story about a stray dog.

This will be the basis for a writing prompt later in the week.

Students were in the computer lab to type their Argument Papers.

2/8/19

Today in class:

Students finished the argumentative writing graphic organizer.

There will be a check on this on Monday at the beginning of class.

Students worked on this all week.

If a student was out for the field trip, they are still responsible to have the graphic organizer all the way completed including the conclusion. This was discussed in class since Wednesday.

No late completion will be accepted.

2/7/19

Today in class:

Students finished three body paragraphs for the argument paper in class.

Students will complete the conclusion paragraphs either in class tomorrow or for HW if they are going on the field trip tomorrow.

All parts of the graphic organizer must be completed by Monday.

2/6/19

Today in class:

Students watched a 5 minute clip on valid reasoning before organizing their three body paragraphs for the argument paper.

Students were guided through the first body paragraph.

All students will be expected to complete 3 body paragraphs on the organizer before Friday.

Today in class:

Students wrote a hook and background information on research articles. Students should have completed the introductory portion of the argument paper graphic organizer.

2/4/19

Today in class:

Students decided which side of the argument for spicy food they would write about. Next, they wrote their claim statements, chose three valid reasons, and began filling out the introduction portion of the graphic organizer. We will continue tomorrow.
