CLASS NOTES:

Wishlist Items:  We are in need of a few items for our classroom. Please consider donating if you can.

  • *Goldfish crackers
  • *Pretzels
  • Lysol Disinfectant Spray 

*Goldfish crackers and pretzels are good snacks to have when students need them. Thank you all so very much for your generous back-to-school donations! I truly appreciate all of your contributions. 

PURPLE FOLDERS: Please check your child’s purple folder, remove papers on the “KEEP AT HOME” side, and return it daily. This folder is our means of communication back and forth and will ensure important forms and notes are not lost.

ABSENCES: If your child is absent for any reason remember to send in a note when they return. You may also submit your note online to: Teasleynotes@gmail.com- this will go directly to Mrs. Joy, our attendance clerk.

GUIDANCE: We will have our first Guidance lesson with our Counselor Mrs. Oliver next Tuesday. Mrs. Oliver will visit our class biweekly to teach special lessons that will help our students be the best versions of themselves. (example of topics: Being a good listener, treating others fairly, using good manners,…etc.)

MEDIA CENTER: We will visit the Media Center on WEDNESDAY 8/21. Please make sure library books are in backpacks ready to be returned. Thanks for your help.

MYSTERY READERS: Signup Genius COMING SOON!  -We are looking forward to having you share your child’s favorite stories with our class.

BEHAVIOR REWARDS: We have added rewards for your child to earn such as computer/ipad time, stuffed animals and choosing a classroom job. It seems to be very motivating!!

ELA:

  • Fiction / Non-fiction texts.
  • Fiction Literary Elements: character, setting, problem/solution
  • Phonics: letter/sound recognition, handwriting Ii, Hh, Uu, Cc, Bb
  • Sight words: I, a, are, see, is, can, you

Writing:

  • How to be a 3 Star Writer! -We will be writing about our school community; the library, the cafeteria, and recess.

Math:

  • Number sense numbers 0-5
  • Count to 100 (fluently)

Wednesday, 8/28:  Early Release– Wednesday is our first EARLY RELEASE day of the year.  We will begin dismissal at 12:20pm and the first load buses should roll at 12:30pm.  ASP will be available until 6pm.

It was great to see all of you at Orientation and to meet so many SUPER sweet Kindergartners. Mrs. Pearson and I can already tell it is going to be a fantastic year!

REMINDERS: 

Transportation (arrival/dismissal)

  • Our day begins promptly at 7:50 am. 
  • Students should arrive no earlier than 7:20 am.
  • Dismissal will begin at 2:10 pm. Car riders will be dismissed from the front of the building in the car pool line.
  • Transportation changes MUST be in writing

Attire

  • Students must wear Standard School Attire each day and closed toed shoes. Teasley spirit wear can be worn with standard attire bottoms on Fridays. 

Yellow Tag

  • A yellow tag will be placed on your child’s backpack (along with a dismissal tag).
  • The yellow tag will be attached to your child’s book bag and must be visible at all times in order to help the transportation staff clearly identify our youngest students.
  • PLEASE DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING ON THIS YELLOW TAG.

Label Personal Belongings

  • Water bottles, snacks, lunch boxes, backpacks, headphones, sweaters, jackets, mittens, hats, scarves…etc.

Water Bottles

  • Students may bring water bottles with easy open and “leak proof” lids to school. Please fill them before coming to school.
  • PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not place water bottles inside your child’s backpack. We do not want to ruin Library books and other important documents.

Snack

  • Send a healthy snack each day.
  • Please make sure your child’s snack is easily accessible by separating it from their lunch. (see suggestion below)

Purple Folder

  • Each student will receive a purple folder on the first day of school. The purple folder will be our means of communicating back and forth.
  • Please make be sure to check your child’s folder when they come home from school and return it to school the next day.
  • Items placed on the RETURN TO SCHOOL side of the folder will need to be filled out or signed and returned back to school the next day or by the designated date.
  • Items placed in the KEEP AT HOME side of the folder should be removed. 
  • **Remember ALL NOTES, PAYMENT ENVELOPES, CHANGES of TRANSPORTATION, etc…should be placed in this folder. 

Supplies

  • Thank you for all the supplies that have been sent in so far!
  • If you need a supply list, they can be found on the Teasley web page or if requested, I will be happy to send one home in their purple folder. 

2019-2020 DOCUMENTS

Standard attire, supply list, year at a glance calendar,…etc) can be found on the Teasley web page.

Lastly, your child will be exhausted after a long day at school. Please make sure they get a good night’s rest before school days.

Welcome to Kindergarten!!!

It was so wonderful to meet you all Monday and such a joy to welcome all the students this morning. I am looking forward to a great year!!!
