Monday, 1/6:

  • Introduction to Brit. Lit./Comp.
  • Overview of the course
  • Letter from Ms. O to students – write your letter to Ms O, due by Friday, 1/10

Tuesday, 1/7:

  • Grammar diagnostic pre-assessment
  • Work on letter to Ms. O – due Friday, 1/10

Wednesday, 1/8:

  • Begin Perspectives SB unit 1 with film Vantage Point
  • In groups, you are responsible for tracking one perspective in the film. Be prepared to discuss.

Learning Goals:  Consider perspectives and how personal experiences create interpretations of events in a text. Standards: ELAGSE11-12RL2: Determine two or more themes or central ideas of text and analyze their development over the course of the text, including how they interact and build on one another to produce a complex account; provide an objective summary of the text. ELAGSE11-12RL10: By the end of grade 12, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 11-12 text complexity band independently and proficiently.

Thursday, 1/9:

  • Continue with SB activities – Perspectives
  • Finish analyzing perspectives in the film Vantage Point
  • Class discussion

Friday, 1/10

  • Continue with SB activities – Perspectives
  • SB pp 5-8 and group presentations
  • PPT background to the Anglo-Saxons + video
