Thursday: MICROSOFT CERTIFICATION  –  Ribbon Location Scavenger  Hunt – Tables Lessons and Worksheets – When finished, work on teamwork Vocabulary

Friday : MICROSOFT CERTIFICATION –  DUE TODAY: Teamwork Vocabulary AND Teamwork Interview Challenge – GMETRIX;   Tuckman’s  Stages of Group Development – Forming/Norming/Storming/Performing

Covers the following: Increasing Self Awareness, Employability Skills, Work Readiness Traits, Communication, Memos, Attitude in the Workplace, Good Manners, Diversity, Dress for Success, SMART Goals, Job Applications, Resume and Cover Letters

Monday:  GMETRIX – Students will work on GMETRIX Module 1 Microsoft Word with a grade higher than 80% to move on to Module 2 – Spelling Words (Business, Restaurant, Entrepreneurship, Activities, References)  GMETRIX and Certiport Setup for Microsoft Certification if anyone does not have an account set up – Begin review for  assessment on Thursday.

Tuesday: Cover Letter and Resume –  Project packs will be turned in today (Job Application, Reference Sheet, Cover Letter and Resume) – Students complete their graphic organizers.

Wednesday:  Teamwork  – Colored Cards for teamwork activity (group activity) – What is Synergy? – Teamwork Interview Challenge (Due Monday) – Human Knot and Numbers – Elements of Teamwork – Teamwork Vocabulary (due Friday) – Review for Assessment

Thursday: Unit 1 Assessment  –  When you finish, you should work on Teamwork Vocabulary and GMETRIX

 Guess what? You made a good choice! Do you realize that of the 1,869,814 bachelor’s degrees conferred in 2013 – 2014, the greatest numbers of degrees were conferred in the fields of business (358,079)  (per the National Center for Education Statistics). Business and Technology is a class that will benefit you in so many ways…… no matter your choice of college major or career field.  70% of high school students say they want to own their own business and 73% of new jobs in the next five years will require technology skills. 91% of hiring managers consider employee certification as a criterion for hiring! You are going to leave this class with Microsoft Certification! 


This blog will be used for both my 1st level and 2nd level Business students.
