Take a few minutes to make a token of appreciation for your family. Think about everything they have done to help you become the wonderful person that you are! Think about the ways they have supported you as a student (especially during digital learning when they suddenly became your teacher, too!!!).

Mother’s Day is THIS SUNDAY!

Many of us are lucky enough to spend each day with our mothers, some of us are lucky enough to spend each day with our aunts & grandmothers who love us and care for us just the same. This week, you will read an article and answer questions about the history of Mother’s Day on Readworks. The article is called, “Hooray for Mom and Dad.”

Then, I encourage you to make your Mother/Aunt/Grandmother a card telling them how much you love and appreciate them. If you want to make a craft for a gift, there is a great book on GetEpic called Mother’s Day Crafts with step by step illustrated directions for a few neat projects to try.

8. VIRTUAL FIELD DAY WEEK

Virtual Field Day 2020 Families can choose to do a row or column of 4 OR do all of the activities. There are activities for PE, Music, Art, Spanish, the Learning Commons, and iLab. We will share this on Social Media next week as well and the info for National Field Day on May 8th is included.  Please encourage your parents to join the Cheatham Hill Specials’ Team Facebook Group to share what students are completing.  This group has additional activities that have been posted by the Specialists throughout Digital Learning.

Watch each video, then solve the problem she gives you at the end. Use PICTURES, NUMBERS, and WORDS for a complete answer.

First, watch video 1- click here, then solve problem 1. If Melissa and Joe went to day 6, how many fish would Melissa catch and how many would Joe catch?

Second, watch video 2- click here, then solve problem 2- Create the coordinate plane to match the data in the problem of the day. Put the days on the x axis and the fish on the y axis. Then, determine the data for day 6 and add it to the coordinate plane.

Third, watch video 3- click here, then solve problem 3- Create the coordinate plane to match the data in the problem of the day. Then, determine the data for days 5-8 and add it to the coordinate plane.

Fourth, watch video 4- click here, then solve problem 4- Create the coordinate plane to match the data in the problem of the day. Then, determine the data for days 5-8 and add it to the coordinate plane.

Fifth, watch video 5- click here, then solve problem 5- By day 10, how many more cups of water did Mrs. Riggins drink than Mrs. Wilkerson? BONUS- can you create a coordinate plane that shows the data for how much water Mrs. Riggins drank in 10 days and how much water Mrs. Wilkerson drank in 10 days? Label the x axis with water and the y axis with days.
