Dear Parents,

We are now in the month of December. We will be having our Holiday party Friday December 15th and parents are welcome to join!

This week we had a lot of fun making mouse hats and wearing them during story. We also made a mess just like in our story Mouse Mess! The afternoon students were able to go to the library this week and participate in some fun coding and STEM activities.

Next, week will be starting our new unit on Fairy Tales. The book of the week is Chicken Little by Laura Rader. The vocabulary words are: ears, hen, tail, eyes, duck, goose, chick, king, acorn, sky and falling. The shape of the week is triangle and the color is brown. The letter of the week is L.

Wednesday, November 29th

Parents,

We have had a wonderful week back at school! We have continued to learn about food and the different food groups! Next week will be starting our fairy-tales unit! The books we will be reading are the following:

Chicken Little by Laura Rader (12/4-12/8)

Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Mara Alperin and Kate Daubney (12/11-12/15)

The Gingerbread Man by Mara Alperin (12/18-12/20)

Dear Parents,

We had another great week of learning! The students are still learning about the different food groups. Today we had our guest reader (Mrs. Knight) come. We made turkey’s out of a glove stuffed with goldfish and popcorn. The students loved it! Remember next week is our Thanksgiving break. I hope everyone has a wonderful break!

When we return we our theme will be food, the letter of the week is M, the color is red and the shape will be triangle. The book we will be reading is  Mouse Mess by Linnea Riley. The vocabulary words are: awake, asleep, see, bed, spill, hungry, eat, mouse, rake, build, and in.

Thursday, November 9th

Parents,

The students have had another great week! We are starting to learn about the different food groups. Next week we will continue our theme of food. The book we will be reading is the I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie. The vocabulary words are: pie, cider, roll, squash, salad, turkey, pot, cake and bread. We will continue to learn about the letter Y. The color will be orange and the shape will be oval.

Reminder next Tuesday (Nov. 14th) is Let’s Celebrate Family lunch!

In our class I have started to implement more sensory activities during center time. We are in need of items for our sensory bin. If you would like to donate anything please send it in with your child. Here is a list of things:

  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Corn (popcorn kernels)
  • Pom Poms
  • Cotton Balls
  • Easter Grass
  • Ribbons
  • Bird Seed
  • Oatmeal
  • Cups (different sizes)
  • Paper towel roll (middle cardboard insert)

Dear Parents,

We had another fun week! We continued to talk about emotions and we learned about the letter V. We also had a lot of fun at our Fall party! Thank you again to everyone who came.

Next week we will be starting our unit on food. The story we will be reading next week is There’s a Giraffe in My Soup. The vocabulary words for the week are: soup, restaurant, dessert, giraffe, ostrich, elephant, whale, lion, yak. The letter we will be working on is Y. The shape and color will be trapezoid and white.

Remember next Tuesday, November 7th there will be no school.

Dear Parents,

We had another awesome week. We had new friend join our class, we celebrated a birthday, and we also had a Guest Reader (Mrs. Cody) this week! Next week we will continue our theme of Feelings. The book we will be reading is Where’s My Mummy by Carolyn Cami the vocabulary words are: scrubbed, mom, woods, brush, hair, night, wash, baby, hands, brush, teeth and scared.   The letter of the week will be N. The color will be black and the shape will be star.

Remember next tuesday (31st) we will be having a party. Parents are welcome to join it will be from 8:30 to 9:15!

Friday, October 20th

Dear parents,

We have had another wonderful week! I have enjoyed meeting with you each of you to talk about your child’s progress. We will be continuing our theme of feelings next week! The book of the week will be The Little Old Lady Who Isn’t Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams. The vocabulary words are: old, lady, gloves, white, black, cottage, whispered, nod and crow. The letter of the week will be N, shape is oval and color is pink.

Remember October 31 we will have a class party! Parents are welcome to join and it will be begin at 8:30. Also November 14, will be celebrate families lunch! Next is Red Ribbon week we will be making class poster for the contest.

Monday, October 16th

Dear Parents,

We had a great week last week! Remember this week is Conference week. We are starting our feelings unit this week also. Our book this week is Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses. The vocabulary words are: grumpy, toad, sunglasses, mad, squirrel, turtle, frustrated, happy, sad, alligator, and owl. We will doing a letter review this week and the shape is diamond and the color orange.

Friday, October 6th

Parents,

I can’t believe its already October! We had a fun week after break. We learned about the parts of an apple. We even tried different types of apple to find it which one everyone liked most, and it was a tie between red delicious and fuji apples! Next week we will continue to learn about fall! The book will be Harvest Party by Jennifer O’Connell. The vocabulary words will be: farmer, clothes, barn, key, taste, pumpkin, corn, and flowers. The letter of the week will be lowercase a. The shape will be Diamond, and the color  will be Orange.
