February Update

What a Valentine’s Day we had! ♥

Last Friday, February 14, was a very special day for us. We had a surprise visit from my daughter, Emma-Kate, who brought us cupcakes, Munchkins, and hot chocolate! She was so excited to meet all of you and could not stop commenting on how kind, respectful, and smart you all are.

We spent the beginning of class reading our novels and then spent the second portion performing a “Poetry Slam”. Several brave students read their incredible poems to the delight of their fellow classmates. Thank you to all who participated. However, we do need to work on being more quiet and respectful when our classmates are sharing.

Have a great break and I can’t wait to see you all when we get back to school next week!

Be Kind,

Ms. Neal

If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.” -J.K. Rowling

Ps. Get some well deserved rest this week like Abraham is demonstrating below.

Dearest Students,

I hope you are enjoying your long weekend, and I hope you are remembering how fortunate we are to have had such an inspiring and determined American leader like MLK!!! Since we took that long ride from Flint, Michigan down to Birmingham, Alabama (with that weird Watson family) last year, my appreciation for the great doctor has never been stronger.  I hope your gratitude for MLK has increased as well.

You each have four grades that need to be posted in my grade book.  Please be patient with me because I encountered a computer/Ms. Neal GLITCH at home this weekend.  Hopefully, your grades will be in by this Tuesday night.  Take care and BE KIND!!!

Respect Yourself,

Ms. Neal

PS – The New Oxford American Dictionary says (you probably already know this) a GLITCH is a sudden, usually temporary malfunction or irregularity of equipment.

Welcome to Ms. Neal’s Blog!!!

Hi!  I am so glad to be sharing my blog with you!  This week (it’s already Thursday) we have begun our Unit on Argumentative Writing.  We will be writing an essay, having a debate, and creating a visual project.  Every Friday we celebrate reading and build our reading stamina during our “Novels with Neal” time.  I look forward to sharing more with you about our success!!!
