WE NEED BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS FOR FRIDAY!

As of  Tuesday morning, we have no volunteers for Mornings with Moms on Friday. We need 5 helpers!  We would love to have some Dads help, seeing as this is a momma event.

Here is a link to the Sign Up Genius page.  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e4ba9ae23abfa7-kincaid

Please help us support our school PTA and the American Cancer Society.  Also, don’t forget to RSVP for the event, Moms, if you plan on eating with your child.  Please share with all of your Kincaid friends!

READ ACROSS AMERICA *WITH FOOTBALL PLAYERS*

We had a wonderful time yesterday listening to stories read by players from the Kennesaw State University Owls football team.  Players came and read humorous stories to participating classes across grade levels.  Participants included (left to right) :

  • Deontae Flood; OL, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Charlie Patrick; LB, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Adesola Abisoye; DB, Loganville, Georgia
  • Tyrik Mitchell; DB, Jackson, Georgia
  • Jacob Potter; LS, Adairsville, Georgia

Coach Stewart Cook is the coordinator for this community service event every year during the week of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Week.

Kids Can Purchase With an E-Wallet

What is the Scholastic Book Fair E-Wallet? It’s so cool! It allows a parent to:
-Securely give money to each of your kids to buy books
-Pre-authorize the amount to control kids spending
-Make funds immediately available for use
-Only get charged for what your child purchases
-Use a credit card remotely for payment
-Receive a refund for any monies not spent

On Friday, February 24, the E-wallet goes live. Go to our book fair homepage and click on the Get Started button next to the blue e cent sign.

Presents for Our Book Fair Kickoff!

Last year the PTA book fair funded a set of Harry Potters for each third, fourth, and fifth grade class. This fall, we already had enough profit from the spring book fair to place a set of books in each kindergarten, first and second grade classroom. Kindergarteners will see new Mo Willem’s Pigeon books. First grade classes get copies of. Second grade gets new sets of Junie B. Jones. Thanks to all of our families for supporting the PTA book fair.
