This week we will be covering factors and multiples in math. There will be a short quiz on it Friday morning. For the standards the students are expected to know the factors of numbers 1-100. In reading we are continuing with main idea and details and will start identifying text features.
We are finishing the American Revolution this week and will have quiz Friday on the different battles and important people during this time. A study guide will go home Wednesday. In writing we are continuing opinion pieces.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Happy Friday Bells Ferry Families!
What a great week of conferences! It was good to see everyone and remember that even though conference week is over, anytime you would like to talk or discuss your students progress, we can schedule a meeting.
This coming week we’re back to our normal schedule. We are still working on multiplication in math and opinion writing. In reading we are focusing on informational texts and we’ve started the American Revolution in Social Studies. There will be a math assessment on Wednesday based on comparative multiplication and some work to practice will be sent home on Monday. On Friday we will have a Social Studies quiz and a short reading assessment.
Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great weekend!
It was another great week of learning. We had our first STEM day and our students attempted to build rollercoasters using a limited number of supplies. It was great to see them putting their critical thinking and problem solving skills into action!
Next week is Conference Week, which means early release Monday-Friday. If you forgot your conference time, you can email me at Kelsea.email@example.com or send a ClassDojo message to ask for the date and time.
While the days are short, we still have a lot to focus on. We are going to go over multiplication again and really try to understand multi-digit multiplication. We are also switching from poetry to informational texts. There are so many possibilities to explore! In writing we are going to start on opinion pieces and persuasive essays.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Good afternoon Bells Ferry families!
Today has been the end of another hard week at work.
We looked into the history of different poetry styles and look forward researching different poets next week. We are also going to continue working on perimeter and will have a test Tuesday to finish out the quarter. Also on Tuesday we will be testing on the solar system and planets. A study guide for this has been sent home. Writing has come a long way since the start of the quarter and I look forward to seeing their final narrative pieces next week!
Next Thursday, October 11, will be an early release day. On this day we are going to be focusing on STEM. If your student has a STEM shirt, they are encouraged to wear it that day!
Have a wonderful weekend.
