Only 3 1/2 weeks left in the school year! I don’t know where the time went.

Next week our biggest focus is going to be on Milestone. Students will test on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in ELA. We will then spend Thursday and Friday reviewing for the math tests the following week.

Please make sure students are here on time the days of testing. If they are not here when we start testing they will not be able to start testing with our class.

The students should get lots of rest Sunday night and be prepared for day 1!! I know they can do it!

Have a great weekend.

Saturday, April 20

Happy Weekend everyone! I hope it’s been a good start so far.

This coming week is our last week before Milestones. They are fast approaching! On top of reviewing some of the older skill’s we’ve covered, we are going to be looking at theme in reading as well as how to make inferences based on information from the text. In math we are going to spend a bit more time on line plots and converting measurement and we will have a quick quiz on this Friday. We are also going to be working on how to use information from multiple sources in writing.

We start social studies again this week and will be going over the Civil War main events, battles, and historical figures. There is a lot of content in this unit. The students will have a quiz on Friday with a study guide going home Wednesday.

Friday will also be the spelling test.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend!

Friday, April 12

Only two weeks left until Milestones begin!

At this time we are spending a good percentage of our time reviewing the ELA and math standards we have covered. In addition to this we are still working on geometry and measurement in math. Next week we will look further into line plots and lines of symmetry. In reading we are covering themes and how to identify them. Science continues our exploration into sound; the students will have a test on Friday.

We will continue to work on how to use texts to spark ideas in writing.

Re-enrollment cards have been sent home with students, please fill these out and return them to school along with an envelope for the end of the year report cards.

Have a great weekend!

Sunday, April 7

I hope everyone had a great Spring Break!

This coming week is going to be very busy! We are looking back at measurement in math. This is typically a difficult week so it’s important students are in attendance! We are going to be looking at converting measurements using smaller and larger units.

Reading and writing will continue the skills we were working on before break. In science we are going to be looking at sound: what it is and how it works. There will be a quiz on this Friday.

We are getting closer and closer to Milestone testing. Information has been sent home with students, as well as practice test and testing tips. Please let me know if you have any more questions about these!
