We met Ms. Adams in Art class.

We began learning Spanish with Teasley’s Spanish teacher Mrs. Vega-Concepcion.

Your children started working independently on their seat work.

Students spent time reading their favorite stories.

On Friday we had some time with Ipads (we have some technical difficulties to work out but thank you to everyone who has already sent in headphones!)  and Indoor recess centers.

We also took lots of “brain breaks” singing to Go Noodle, Hello Friends, and Shake Your Sillies Out to name a few.

Important Dates this week:

8/8: First PTA meeting- 6:15

8/9: Our first class visit to the library to check out a book. Students can keep this book until we go again the next week.

Academics

We are still focusing on procedures and behavior expectations this week.

Reading: Book study using Chick A Chick A Boom

Math: 1 to 1 correspondence, understanding numbers 0-10,

Writing: This quarter we will be focusing on narrative writing, retelling a personal story. Our launch unit will begin this week.

Note: An important part of Kindergarten is developing fine motor skills. Please encourage your child to spend time at home drawing/writing/cutting.

Water bottles are not necessary in our class as we do have a water fountain in the room and use the water fountain in the hall. If you want your student to have one as part of their lunch or the bus they may bring one but they really become a distraction- and so so so many spills!

Thank you for entrusting your child to me this year, I look forward to watching our little class bloom and grow!
