Transportation: If there are any changes regarding your child’s transportation, please send me a written note in your child’s folder. Please understand that I cannot make any changes without a written letter. Email changes will not be a valid note. If you need to make transportation changes during the school day, please call or fax the office before 1:45.
Arrival and Dismissal: Students arrive to school between 7:15-7:50. Children who arrive early must wait in the front hallway until 7:15 before going to the classroom. If your child arrives after the bell rings at 7:50, he/she will have to sign in at the office and will receive a tardy slip. If you are checking your child out of school in the afternoon, please do so before 1:30.
Attendance: If your child is absent, please send in an excuse. Please remember that some reasons for an absence may be excused or unexcused. Please visit my attendance tab for more information.
Medication: If your child needs to take medication during school, there are a few procedures to follow. When bringing medicine to school, it must be kept in the original container. In order to dispense medication, a permission form must be completed. You can pick up this form in the clinic when dropping off medication. Please include a note in your child’s folder with the time and dosage of medication. The clinic nurse will be dispensing the medicine in the clinic.
Afterschool Program (ASP): ASP is a pre-paid program available after school until 6pm. Payment for ASP must be in the gold envelope. Please be sure to fill out the envelope including your child’s name and child’s teacher on the check. Please remember, we must have a letter stating any changes in a child’s transportation and this includes those who attend ASP.
Lunch: A cafeteria lunch is $2.35 with milk included. Adult and guest lunches are $3.75. I strongly encourage you to pay for lunches by the week or the month. Please send money in an envelope and label all checks with student name and teacher. Please keep in mind the “extras” that students are allowed to purchase. You can make a note on your child’s account to have extras on specific days, one day, any day of the week, or no days. Also, please specify how many extras your child may have on the days you designate. A special parent permission form will be coming home at the beginning of the year.
Money: When sending in money, please do so in a sealed envelope. On the outside of the envelope please include your child’s name, my name, purpose for the money as well as the amount.
Birthdays: If you would like to honor your child’s special day, please let me know if you’d like to send in a yummy snack. If you do, I ask that you send the snack (cupcakes, cookies, etc) in the morning. If your child is having a party outside the school setting, please do not send invitations to school unless the entire class is invited. Thank you for your understanding.
Recess: We will go outside for recess on most days if weather permitting. When it gets cooler, please remember to send your child to school with a jacket.
Specials: Our specials are Art, Music, Technology, and PE. Please be sure to dress your child in tennis shoes on PE days.
Snack: Please send in a healthy snack for your child each day.
Parent Volunteers: There will be special activities throughout the year that I will ask for parents to volunteer their time. I will post information on my blog, email, or send a letter home. Also, PTSA is always looking for volunteers and this is a great way to give back to Frey!
Contact Information: Please keep me updated on addresses and phone numbers. This information is needed in the clinic, office, and the classroom. Always let me know of any changes including cell numbers, work numbers, and emergency contact numbers.
