Open House was a big success Monday night. Thank you to all of the parents who attended.
Tie Dye Day is coming…August 25th! Wear your grooviest tie dye clothing. This is a Relay for Life fundraiser. A dollar donation is appreciated if you participate.
Happy Thursday! Milestone results were supposed to go home today. Those will be sent home with the students in my homeroom tomorrow. I apologize if this causes any inconvenience.
Mark your calendars. Intramurals will begin next Monday. Students must be at school at 8:15 to participate. Students have information stickers for The Cobb Digital Library. To access the CDL at home, please use the link for either the county website or the Durham home page.
Parents, please read the following the statement regarding the eclipse:
School-Day Extended 45 Minutes on August 21 due to Solar Eclipse
Due to the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, the Cobb County School District will delay dismissal of elementary, middle and high school students by 45 minutes.
The peak time to experience the solar eclipse falls during our regularly scheduled elementary school dismissal time. Since student safety is always our first priority so we will delay dismissal to ensure that neither students nor employees are on the roadways during the time of the eclipse. Subsequently, high schools and middle schools will delay dismissal as well.
Parents are welcome to pick-up their child at the typical dismissal time if needed.
For more information regarding the solar eclipse visit the National Weather Service at http://www.weather.gov/sgf/SolarEclipse.

What an amazing first week! Thank you to everyone who sent in donations for our classroom. It is very appreciated. Make sure you have your calendar marked for the AUGUST 14th Open House. I look forward to seeing everyone. If you want to see what we are doing in class or your student wants to check the blog, remember to click on the link to the Social Studies page. It is on the top right hand side of the screen. It looks like it is written on a sticky note. Have a fun weekend. Remember, it’s still summertime, so go outside and have a ball!
Please remember that classroom donations are accepted at any time! I appreciate everything that has been sent in already. Today, students reviewed homeroom expectations. Students should be in homeroom at 9:10. This is a time to get ready for the academic day. We are off to a great start! Remember to bring in your signed forms from the Cobb County folder. I will begin assigning lockers tomorrow.
