Red Ribbon Week!

Thank you for a wonderful conference week! It was so good to talk with each of you about your child’s successes so far this year! We will continue to work hard and build those strong reading, writing, and math skills. If you need anything or have a question, please don’t hesitate to call or email me. I’m here to help!!

This week is Red Ribbon Week. For the last two days, we will be wearing mixed matched or backward clothing on Thursday and crazy or favorite hats on Friday. Thank you to everyone that sent in a canned good to support families in need during the holidays. It’s not to late to send some in if you forgot.

Come out Saturday, October 28th to the Pitner Fall Jamboree from 10-2.

This week in Reading we are working on using non-fiction text features such as table of contents, glossary, index, labels, bold words, captions, headings, and maps/charts.

In Math, we are working on understanding the meaning of the equal sign and building our fluency in math facts to 20.

Our Phonics words are long I words with silent e. Don’t forget to go over your child’s word list before the test on Friday.

In Social Studies we will be wrapping up our study of Benjamin Franklin. Our test will be on Friday, Oct. 27th.

The Book Fair is coming! We will be previewing it this Friday. Stop by and shop with your child next week before school. Oct. 30th – Nov. 3rd.
