2nd Grade

2nd graders have a lot of fun testing their designs to see if they meet the criteria within the constraints that are given. In the pics below, students worked with various materials to determine the quickest way to melt ice. They tested different arrangements of insulators and conductors to see which design would work best to accomplish the challenge. It’s always fun to see their excitement and surprise when unexpected things happen. Another student is experimenting with levers to see see how he can arrange the blocks to manipulate the backward and forward movement of a car.
