The End of Reconstruction

Today students began class with a video highlighting the struggle between Congress and the President during reconstruction. We also discussed the impeachment process.

Students then took notes on the status of African Americans in the South.

Next, students examined the southerns economy, end of reconstruction, the Compromise if 1877 and the Effects of Reconstruction.

We then had time to review for the test tomorrow.

This week in World History . . .

Monday (11/28)

Students reviewed material covered in Unit 9 before the break – those that did the HW, reviewed the HW together and then working on several activities.  Those who did not do the HW, spent time doing the HW and getting it check off then moved on the  the following activities:

Atlas worksheet on imperialism

Atlas worksheet on WWI

Took notes on new technology during WWI (pgs. 848 and 850)

 

Tuesday (11/29)

Students took notes on WWI strategy and war conditions as well as the end of the war and the Treaty of Versailles

Students then has time to study for the test, or finish the atlas worksheets from Monday.

The last 15 minutes, students reviewed for the test by playing a kahoot

 

Today – Wednesday (11/30)

Students took the Unit 9 Test and filled out a test reflection sheet.

Students then picked up their mining the standards sheet and were assigned their Word Wall vocabulary word.  The remainder of class, students worked on completing their word wall

We then reviewed for the test, playing Kahoot

Students began class describing  the difference between an explorer and a conquistador . . . we then reviewed all explorers and conquistadors

Students then reviewed the worksheets completed in class and for HW – Explorers, colonies, Columbian exchange

 

Exploration in the Americas

Today, students began class by viewing a video on Zhang He and writing down 10 important facts.

Next, students read an excerpt of James Cook and answered guided questions.

Students then got their questions checked off and received a graphic organizer on Exploration in the Americas.  Students also received a handout on the Columbian exchange to work on tonight.
