Next Week October 16th -20th is Conference Week. Students will be released each day at 12:20. I look forward to meeting with each family to share the great progress their child is making in kindergarten.
We have many exciting upcoming events this month.
- Thursday, October 5th is our 1st PTA meeting where the 4th graders will perform at 6:30.
- Friday evening from 5-8 is our annual Fall Festival and Basket Raffle.
- Next Friday October 13th will be our 1st Field Trip to the Puppetry Arts Center to see “Charlotte’s Webb”. If you have not returned your child’s permission slip and paid for the trip please do so. We would like to thank our PTA for helping fund this exciting trip so that we were able to keep the cost very economical. Hope to see you at these upcoming events. Enjoy your fall!
Please check your child’s blue folder for the GKIDS Readiness Report. There is a yellow letter attached that explains the assessment. Look for the website in the letter where you can view videos and find activities to work at home with your child. Every student in the state of Georgia took this readiness assessment. If you have additional questions please email me and I will get back in touch with you. [email protected]
We are off to a great start! We have been working on the letters Cc, Oo, and Aa, counting to 20 orally, counting objects to 10 and recognizing numerals 1-10. We have learned about the American Flag and the Georgia Flag and about different types of maps. We will be studying about Labor Day and jobs as well as the letters Dd and Gg for the next two weeks. We will continue our work with numerals and counting. Please review and help your child with these topics at home.
We are so excited to have new students join our class today. It was wonderful to meet parents last night at Open House. If you were not able to come last night please look in your child’s blue communication folder for handouts. We look forward to a great year ahead with you and your child.
Please join us for Open House
