Learning for the Week

We will be reviewing standards we have learned this nine weeks.


Explorers Test

The test over Cartier, De Soto, and Hudson will be on Monday, December 18th. Students have a study guide and their notes in their take home binder.

Tuesday, December 19th: Early Release at 12:30

Wednesday, December 20th: Early Release at 12:30


Important Events

Class Party: Monday, December 18th from 12-12:45 (Several classes are having parties this day. We respectfully ask that parents depart once the party has concluded at 12:45. Thank you for your assistance in this matter). Please sign up to bring in a dish!

Learning for the Week

Reading: Parts of Dramas and Stories, Review of Standards

Writing: Review of Informational and Narrative Writing, practicing writing to a prompt

Math: Graphs

Science:  Health: Negative effects of drugs and alcohol

Social Studies: Resources, Currency, Review of Explorers


Transportation Changes

As a reminder, we cannot accept changes to transportation over the phone or through email. All changes in transportation must be made in writing. Thank you for your attention to this matter.


Explorers Test

Students will have Part 2 of their explorers test over Jacques Cartier, Hernando De Soto, and Henry Hudson on Monday, December 18th. Students received a study guide and have their notes. This test will be combined with part 1 for their Social Studies grades for these standards.

Winter Party

Please be sure to register for our Home for the Holidays party! Our party will be on Monday, December 18th at 12:00-12:50. The link is below! We are excited to share some of the best foods from all cultures and holiday traditions!

Proposal Forms Extended Due Date: December 15, 2017(Pick these forms up outside of STEM or room 309)

Grades K-5: Project Boards are Due: Friday, January 19, 2018(to the Media Center)

Judging of Science Fair Projects: Monday, January 22, 2018

District Science Fair for Grades 3-5 1st place winners: February 10, 2018

Updates and Reminders

We will postpone our Explorers test until Monday, December 18th. Please make sure students are studying their study guide and their notes.

Our Giving Market (Santa Shop) time will be tomorrow from 10:20-10:40. Please make sure students are prepared to shop! Envelopes and magazines went out last week.

Weekly Update

We had a great week back! Thank you to all who attended our Expert Extravaganza! The class did a wonderful job presenting their information! Also, a huge thank you to everyone who donated to our shoebox! I am proud of our class for showing caring this season! Please see the following reminders for next week! It is a busy time at Teasley!

Explorers Test

Students will be completing their notes for part 2 of their explorers test this coming week. Their test will be on December 15. This test will be combined with Part 1 taken on November 17th for their final Social Studies grades for these standards on their report card.

Six Flags Reading Logs

Students will be receiving their Six Flags reading logs. This will take the place of the Tiger Reading Challenge for December. Students will only receive 1 copy of the reading log. Logs are due back by January 12th. Students will not be receiving a homework log for December. The Six Flags log will take its place.

Holiday Party

Barnes and Noble Night

We are excited to announce our 3rd annual Barnes and Noble Night on Tuesday, December 5th 4:00-7:00 pm! Please join us for all the fun!

  • Teacher and administrator read-aloud’s
  • Gift wrapping by teachers
  • Chorus performance
  • Art show

Barnes and Noble will donate a percentage of the sales to our school! Please know that if you are unable to attend, you can still shop online with the Teasley Bookfair ID! See the attachment for more details!

Updates for the Week

It was great to see you at our Thanksgiving Luncheon! Thank you to our room moms Jamie and Bridget for coordinating our delicious desserts, and thank you to all who donated! I hope that you have a wonderful break! Enjoy the rest and time with family and friends! Please read the following updates for the week we return.

Writing: Practicing for our Presentation, Speaking Skills

Homework over the Break

Please have students read everyday! Also, please be sure students are practicing their multiplication facts. You will receive a progress report of student’s multiplication facts in their Friday folders. Don’t forget to log your minutes in Biblionasium for the November Tiger Reading Challenge!


Expert Extravaganza

We will be celebrating how hard students have worked on their informational writing with our Expert Extravaganza on Friday, December 1st from 8:30-9:30. Please RSVP to me at [email protected] if you will be able to attend. Students are welcome to make a poster, diagram, or model of their topic to share with their presentation.

Caring this Season

Our class will be completing a service project to show caring. We will be creating shoe boxes for a 7-9 year old boy and girl. Please consider sending in a $1 gift for our shoe box. Ideas are below. Please send in your gift no later than December 1st!

Girl: hair bows, nail polish, lotion, pens

Boy: small football, puzzles, cards, games

Attendance and Talent Show


Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Coming to school every day on-time is a key ingredient to student success. The Teasley Attendance Team wants to reward those students who come to school ready to learn and on time every day. Any student who has perfect attendance, (which means no excused or unexcused absences or tardies) through the end of the 2nd 9 weeks, Wednesday, December 20th, will receive recognition for their attendance. These students will receive a free dress down day, a special treat, and a brag tag for their bookbags. Students who have perfect attendance for the entire school year will be invited to a special celebration during the last week of school to praise their commitment to their education. Thank you for your support in getting your student to school every day!


Talent Show

Deadline for tryout forms is November 27th, the Monday after Thanksgiving Break! No late forms will be accepted! Permission form is attached below!

Holiday Hearts

Dear Teasley Families,

It’s time again for the annual “Holiday Heart Program” at Teasley.  Each year our students, staff and community members support families in need during the holiday season.  We are asking you to buy gifts cards from places such as Wal-mart, Target, Publix, Kroger or QT in any denomination.  Please write the amount on the card. These cards will be shared with other Teasley families during the holidays.

Please place your gift card in an envelope marked “Holiday Hearts” and return it to Teasley by Wednesday, December 13th.  All gift cards should be placed in one of the black payment boxes or the safe.

Teasley vs. Smyrna Soccer Match


Come out and show your support for our Teasley Tigers soccer team, Friday November 17th, at 6:30 pm.  The game will take place at the Campbell High School football field.  Admission is free and open to the public.
