Happy Friday and Happy Fall Break!! I hope you all have had a great week. The kiddos have worked extremely hard in the classroom this week and have had a lot of fun today celebrating International Peace Day and also celebrating the last school day before Fall break. Enjoy your week off with your child! Here is what we have planned for when we return the first week of October.
Reading: Character response- review of quarter 1 curriculum- writing and answering wh questions, identifying the beginning, middle, and end of a story, and also identifying how characters respond to events and other characters in a story.
Writing: continue writing our second personal narrative, “A Time I was Afraid”, rough drafts/final copies
ELA: Quarter 1 grammar review- common/proper nouns, plural/irregular plural nouns, collective nouns
Math: reviewing place value and the value of digits in a number, counting coins (pennies, nickles, dimes), money word problems.
Science: Matter (solids, liquids, gases) and how matter changes (heating, cooling, etc.)
Enrichment Rotation: Monday/STEM, Tuesday/PE, Wednesday/PE, Thursday/Music, Friday/Art
*Congratulations to Maryam, Chloe, Jag, Ariana, and Katie for earning their 5 point AR gumball milestones by excelling in their AR quizzes. Lucas and Jag were our raffle winners this week! Great job!
*We will have our weekly library checkout on Monday this week.
*We will have a guidance lesson and science lab lesson on Friday.
