Week of September 11th

The students did an awesome job taking the CogAT.  They were focused and diligent in figuring out the right answer. Next week they will take the IOWA.  This is a  longer daily testing time.  Please encourage your child to take their time and do their best.  These scores are used both this year and next year to see learning strengths and weaknesses.  Early bedtimes and healthy breakfasts will help your child do their best.

I am so proud of our class! We are the H.E.R.O. attendance winners for month of August. H.E.R.O. stands for     H-here              E-everyday      R-ready to learn      O-on time   We had the highest daily attendance among all of the 3rd grade classes and won a PAJAMA day. Your child can wear school appropriate pajamas on Friday, September 15th. Thank you, parents for sending your child to school on-time and ready to learn, every day they feel well!

Remember to place your order for Scholastic books by Friday, the 15th if you are interested. I want to say thank you to all the families that sent in snacks this week.  They were awesome and the students loved getting these extra treats! NO SPELLING OR HOMEWORK THIS WEEK DUE TO TESTING . Your child will need to get out and play to release some stress, and this is a way I can help with that.  Please check the Cobb County Website on Sunday night to see if there are any weather related notices.

Below are websites that will help with this week’s academics.  Please review these yourself before you let your child work on them.  They were appropriate when I posted them, but websites change and you need to make sure they are appropriate for your child.  Advertisements on these websites change frequently.
