All students will have the opportunity to earn extra credit in science over the Fall Break by completing the project that has been assigned to them on their MyOn accounts.
Students are asked to read two books then select an activity they would like to try. They must document this activity with photographs and describe the steps they took to carry it out. They may choose the method in which they would like to present their project…a video, Prezi, poster etc.
Videos and other online presentations may be emailed to me posters and other physical presentations can be turned in at school on Monday October 1. All projects must be emailed or turned no later than 8:00 am Monday October 1. No late projects will be accepted.
I hope all of our students take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their learning outside the classroom.
Have a wonderful Fall Break, see you all in October!
Hello parents! I hope you’ve all been safe and dry these past two days. I know we will all be grateful to get back to our regular routine tomorrow morning. We will in fact be on our normal daily schedule as IOWA testing will not begin until Thursday morning in order to give students an opportunity to settle back in. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I know you’re all excited for next week’s vocabulary list!
You are cordially invited to learn more about the world and the diversity of our Nickajack community on September 8, from 6 to 8 PM. From Italy to Ghana to Peru, there is so much to learn! Enjoy an evening of culture and performances for the whole family. You will also have a chance to experience our first annual Taste of Nickajack! Taste Tickets will be on sale for $1 at the event. In addition, PTA Pal, Los Bravos, will sponsor dinner for $1 person!
This multicultural event is made possible by donations and support from our Nickajack community. We invite you to bring a dish that represents your culture to share! Families that bring a dish to share will receive 5 Taste Tickets.
IOWA testing will be next week Monday through Thursday with makeup testing on Friday.
Testing will begin promptly at 8:15. Our goal is for all of our students to be here on time everyday and not have to participate in the makeup testing on Friday. Please help us meet this goal by making sure your student gets plenty of sleep each night, wakes up on time and eats a healthy breakfast!
Below is a link to sign up for testing snack donations. This is very easy way to encourage and support our kids and give them a little treat at the same time. If you are able we would love for you to sign up to send in a snack for the entire class.
Click on the link below. Explore the United States Geological Survey to complete your online scavenger hunt. Each question should be answered in complete sentences in order receive full credit.
Feel free to get started over the long weekend, I hope everyone has a great LONG weekend!
