In reading we have been learning bout nonfiction text features. We created books that taught us all about the disaster of The Titanic. Using the video below students worked in collaborative groups to develop dialogue and present voice overs to tell the story of the night the gigantic ocean liner sank.
We have started looking at the value digits hold within a larger number and will soon incorporate decimals as well. Below are two songs we like to use to help us remember how place and value correlate as well as how the value of a digit relates to the those to it’s left and right.
These songs WILL get stuck in your head…that’s the point though!
All students have been given their unique login and password to practice math skills using games on Splash Math

We will have a quiz tomorrow over PEMDAS (order of operations) and writing numerical expressions.
*students we asked to write this in their agendas yeasterday 🙂
