I hope you had a wonderful Fall Break and are having a productive week so far.
Here are a few class notes and reminders.
KINDERGATEN T-SHIRTS: Order forms for Kindergarten class T-Shirts were sent home before Fall Break. Return your order form and payment in the envelope provided by TOMORROW!!
FALCONS FRIDAY– This Friday, October 4th will be FALCONS FRIDAY!!! Students may wear Atlanta Falcons shirts or solid red or black shirts. If they dress for Falcons Friday students may wear jeans or school appropriate athletic bottoms.

CAREER DAY: Parents, we still need volunteers to speak at Teasley’s Career Day! Please sign up this week if you would like to participate. Teasley’s annual Career Day will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 8:30-11:30. During this day we would like to give our students the opportunity to explore a variety of careers and learn how education is connected to a successful future. MEDIA CENTER: We will visit the Media Center on THURSDAY, 10/3. Please make sure library books are in backpacks ready to be returned. Thanks for your help.

We are finishing our first IB Unit of the year. Please comment on this page or send me an email of any action your child may have shown as a result of our study (ie. Conversations about community helpers, identifying symbols in the community, noticing the American or Georgia Flag, discussion about their emotions). These do not need to be big actions just things that you are hearing at home about what we are studying at school.
This week we are learning:
IB Unit- Who We Are: All About Me and My Community: REVIEW-What is our role in a community?
- We will review Community helpers, Teasley workers, our role in the class community. The class will also collaboratively create a community map.
- Phonics: 3 letters can be used to make words: short vowel cvc words (ex. cub, rib, ham, rod).
- Sight words: said, go, if, but
- Learning how to write: draw, label, touch and retell.
- Students will write to tell about Fall Break and their community.
- Number sense numbers 0-10
- Identifying what number come next and before, using a 100 chart.
- Count to 50
- Describe, identify, sort by common characteristics of 3D shapes (cube, cylinder, cone, sphere) and compare them to attributes of 2 D shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, oval, hexagon.
