Hello! Testing is finally over, so we are back to our regular schedule!
Here’s what we are learning this week:
Reading: Students will be able to:
RI.4- Determine the meaning of domain and content specific words within context SS3CG1 Describe the elements of representative democracy/republic in the United States. a.Describe the three branches of national government: executive (president), legislative (Congress), and judicial (Supreme Court of the United States). B. Describe the three branches of state government: executive (governor), legislative (Georgia General Assembly), and judicial (Supreme Court of Georgia). C. State the main responsibility of each branch: executive (enforcing laws), legislative (making laws), judicial (determining if laws are fair).
Math: Students will be able to tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure elapsed time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram, drawing a pictorial representation on a clock face, etc.
Writing: Students will write their own narrative adaptations to an original fairy tale story.
