BOGO Book Fair/Lost and Found/EOY details

Hello Parents!

I cannot, cannot, cannot believe we have 6 days left!! Your precious babies will be second graders very soon 🙂

If you have not seen- our library is having a Buy One, Get One sales event! Tomorrow is the last full day!! Thursday closes at 12:00.

Also, please be sure to check our lost and found for sweaters, jackets, shirts, water bottles, lunch boxes, gloves, hats, etc. This will be cleaned out at the end of the year!!

Few End of Year details:

-You will notice your child bringing home notebooks, consumable workbooks, and papers. These are yours to keep. Please continue to clean out their book bags daily. This helps ensure that their book bag does not get too heavy!

-Remember- the last two days of school are early release and there are NO book bags. Please send in your envelope with 4 stamps- remember to address it to yourself and include the school as a return address!

**Thank you so much for sharing your lovelies with me! I have loved having them in my class this year. You have the world’s coolest kids (I’m not telling you anything you don’t know). Thank you, parents, for your support this year. I’m so blessed to have supportive, wonderful parents like you.**

Crayon Initiative

It’s time to clean out those desks and book bags and get ready for summer! If you have old crayons that you no longer need, please consider donating them to our Student Council to support “The Crayon Initiative”.

Each year, over 500,000 pounds of crayons are discarded and sent to our landfills. That wax isn’t biodegradable, so it just sits in our landfills and creates a waxy film.  The Crayon Initiative helps keep crayons out of our landfills by collecting and recycling them.  They turn the old crayons into new ones that they donate to children’s hospitals for sick kids to use.

We will be collecting crayons from Friday, May 20 through Tuesday, May 24.  You’ll see collection boxes around the school where you can leave your crayons.  We hope to collect a lot of crayons that will help our planet and sick kids too!

For more information about The Crayon Initiative, check out their website at http://thecrayoninitiative.org.

As always, let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!

Field Day Fun!

Hello Parents!

Field day is this coming Thursday! Please have your child bring a bottle of water (refillable is preferable). Our time starts at 8:15, so please be sure to be on time!

Students can wear their black first grade shirt or a Teasley shirt, tennis shoes, shorts (please be sure they are school appropriate), and a hat with/without sunglasses. We will have a lot of outdoor activities.

We are encouraging our kiddos to show active  participation, positive cooperation, and display good sportsmanship.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions!  🙂

Read for the WORLD record!!

Parents,

It is time to Read for the World Record!

Check the Teasley Library blog for more information regarding the Summer Reading Program.  Look for a newsletter with your student’s username and password to come home soon (should be today). An instructional video about logging into the Scholastic site has been posted on the library blog. The contest begins May 9 and ends September 9. Let’s see how many minutes Teasley can log this summer!  Please call the Teasley library, visit a public library, or email Ms. Crosby if you need assistance.

Good Luck!
