This is my fifth year at Kincaid and I’m so proud to be a part of this terrific school community!
I have been married 38 years to my husband, and we have just begun an experiment with multigenerational living. Our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren live in their own little apartment in our home. I LOVE it (although I don’t get to nap much anymore)! I was an Army Brat and always lived at least 1,000 miles from my own grandparents. I love hearing my 3-year-old granddaughter come up the stairs and call out “herro”! My family is originally from Colorado and Kansas. I’ve lived in 11 states, Germany, Japan and Okinawa—before we settled here 31 years ago. I love to travel, and when I can’t, I read about it!
In the last 21 years, I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades. I have a master’s in early childhood education from KSU, a bachelor’s in journalism from Kansas University, and a gifted endorsement. I love teaching all subjects, but am especially passionate about writing, reading, science and technology. I am honored to have been a Walmart Teacher of the Year and a presentor at 2 national reading and writing conferences. What I love most of all is teaching children! I’m happy to get up every morning and come to school and have a learning adventure with them.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, read, work on creative projects of different types, listen to music, workout, enjoy the great outdoors and travel.
