Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, located at 4495 Sandy Plains Rd in Marietta, will again offer free academic tutoring for kindergarten through 5th grade on Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 pm beginning September 30. We began free tutoring the winter of 2013 and it was so successful we will be starting up in just a couple of weeks.  Our tutors are a team of retired school teachers and gifted students. All have gone through Safe Sanctuary training and submitted to background checks. We meet on the first floor in a large room with lots of windows and natural light. Call the church of you’re interested!

Here’s what we’re working on this week:

  • Math ~ Multiplication & division concepts
  • Reading ~ Guided reading groups kickoff, traditional literature
  • Writing ~ Opinion (argument) writing
  • Language Arts ~ Handwriting, prefixes/suffixes, pronouns (no spelling this week)
  • Science ~ Rocks and minerals
