Dear Families,

I hope you had a Thanksgiving!

This is what we’re learning this week:

  • Writing-  Narrative writing
  • Grammar: Vocabulary, prefixes and suffixes
  • Reading– Nonfiction & Fiction “Making a Difference” theme
  • Math– 0-5 facts, area model house designs
  • Social Studies– Frederick Douglass
  • Read Aloud– Stone Fox

We’re following the eagles at Southwest Florida Eagle Cam! They have one egg right now. We’ll follow a local Georgia eagle cam once eggs are laid (January probably).

Thank you for all the Must Ministries food donations! We had 65 items to donate to the food kitchen!

Dear Families,

We can’t believe it’s almost Thanksgiving and it still feels like summer on the playground!

This is what we’re learning this week:

  • Writing-  Informational writing – final revision and editing
  • Grammar: Vocabulary, prefixes and suffixes
  • Reading– Nonfiction, text features & evidence
  • Math– Multiplication/division problem solving,  0-5 facts, area models
  • Social Studies– Frederick Douglass
  • Read Aloud– Stone Fox

We’ve run out of class snack, so please consider donating. Thanks so much for all the donations we’ve enjoyed this year!

Speaking of donations, please send in canned and packaged goods for the Must Ministries Thanksgiving food drive. We’re keeping track of our donations and are trying to bring in 100 items. Thank you again.

Dear Families,

The children are off Election Day. The children will cast a secret ballot for the presidential candidate of their choice on Monday and I’ll post the results. It’s always an interesting result. 🙂 We’re working all of this into our study of the three branches of government.

  • Writing-  Informational writing drafting
  • Grammar: Vocabulary, prefixes and suffixes
  • Reading– Nonfiction, text features & evidence
  • Math– Multiplication/division problem solving,  0-5 facts
  • Social Studies– Mountain ranges, branches of government
  • Science– Fossils
  • Read Aloud– Stone Fox

Our PTA health-focused week activities are as follows:

  • Monday – Wear a team sports shirt.
  • Wednesday – Drink lots of water.
  • Thursday – Bring a super healthy snack.
  • Friday – We’ll try out some yoga moves!

Veterans day in November 11th, so we’ll be sure to honor and thank our armed services members, and remember those that sacrificed so much to keep us safe!

Remember the clock change this weekend – it’s the easy one.
