Dear Families,

I hope you had a great February break! I posted the promised turtle photo on SeeSaw. Can’t believe March is only 2 days away!

Our fossil-themed field trip to the Tellus Science Museum is March 13! Please fill out the required permission form and medical form, and send back as soon as possible. We”ll send more details as we get closer to the date.Image result for Tellus science museum fossil

Here’s what we’re learning this week:

  • Writing-  Editing and revision
  • Grammar- Conjunctions
  • Reading– Cause and effect, sequencing
  • Math– Measurement and 2-step problem solving
  • Social Studies– Eleanor Roosevelt

Tuesday is our Mardi Gras bead day, and Thursday is Dr. Seuss’ Read Across America Day! If your child has any Seuss themed apparel or accessories, this day is the perfect day to sport them!Image result for dr seuss read across america






Thanks so much for all the cards, flowers and sweets on Valentine’s Day. The children never tire of sharing their valentines, and it is so sweet to witness.

Dear Families,

We have a busy week planned before we take our February break!

Our Valentine’s exchange will take place Tuesday! The children have made bags to store their cards and treats. STEM day is Friday. The children will present in two sessions: 8:15 and 9:00. You are welcome to attend either one. I will film the presentations and post them on SeeSaw for those of you who can’t make it.

This is what we’re learning this next week:

  • Writing-  Informational writing powerpoint presentations
  • Grammar- Adverbs
  • Reading– Point of view
  • Math– Measurement
  • Social Studies– Franklin Delano Roosevelt & Eleanor Roosevelt
  • Health- Circulatory system (to go with Valentine’s Day)
  • Read Aloud– The Stories Julian Tells

We are going on a field trip to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville on March 13! Here’s a link to our program http://tellusmuseum.org/galleries-more/fossil-gallery/ The cost is $18. Permission and medical forms will go home the Monday we get back from break.

We are out of emergency snacks, so any donations are sure to be appreciated!

Dear Families,

Through all the generous donations to Boosterthon, the class earned $72, and I just purchased math games and incentives. Thank you, again!

The Kincaid Foundation Hoedown is this Friday. Hope you can make it! It should be loads of fun. The silent auction baskets are fabulous!

A class list for Valentine’s Day and a new calendar will come home Monday.
